History
Great Oakley Airfield is owned and operated by Tim and Michele Spurge. It was set up in 1992 as a farm strip for the owner's Kitfox, and two other aircraft.
The Local Authority Planning consent took two years and a planning appeal to achieve. But once started, there has been a gradual increase from the original three aircraft to the present position where there is permission for 30 aircraft to be based at the airfield.
This has taken 15 planning applications and 14 years to accomplish!
